Mr. Ajit Rajagopalan has over 30 years of experience across manufacturing, operations, strategy, and business leadership. He has been with Aditya Birla Group for close to 20 years. He is responsible for overall strategy, operations, and P&L for the Cellulosic Fashion Yarn and Insulators businesses.
At Aditya Birla Group, Mr. Ajit has played diverse leadership roles, spanning businesses and geographies. After 5 years at the Chairman’s office, Mr. Ajit spent close to a decade at Birla Carbon, across manufacturing, business development and projects, based in India, China and Thailand. He moved to lead the Insulators business as CEO in 2021, where he has been driving growth, operational excellence and international partnerships. In 2026, he was appointed as CEO – Cellulosic Fashion Yarn business, while continuing to serve as CEO – Aditya Birla Insulators and CEO – Aditya Birla Power Composites Ltd.
Prior to joining Aditya Birla Group, Mr. Ajit spent over a decade with Indian conglomerates including Tata Group and Reliance Industries, gaining broad experience across consulting, manufacturing, business operations and entrepreneurship.
An engineer from the University of Pune and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Ajit is a recipient of the Aditya Birla Group Chairman’s Award in the Accomplished Leader category.
